I recently bought an Instant Pot, and have liked it so far. The IP is useful to make simple recipes with just a few ingredients and very low preparation times.
Two of the first items Arthur Dembro made were:
Trader Joes Salsa Verde
This recipe was very easy to make – two ingredients – Chicken and Trader Joes Salsa Verde
Pros:
Extremely easy to prepare (Basically no prep time – just throw the two ingredients in the instant pot)
Very inexpensive
Very fast too cook (10 minutes)
Cons:
The flavor was good, but not that interest
Overall:
Good meal to make when you want something quick and not terribly bad for you.
William Sonoma Butter Chicken
This recipe was very easy to make – two ingredients – Chicken, Williams Sonoma Sauce Mix, and 2 tablespoons of butter
Pros:
Extremely easy to prepare (Basically no prep time – just throw the two ingredients in the instant pot)
Very fast too cook (10 minutes)
Good flavor
Cons:
The jar of sauce was $17 – I did not look at the price first, was good, but $17 is outrageously expensive for a jar of sauce.
Not sure how good the butter is for you
The instant pot flashed the warning “BURN” which means the sauce is actually burning. Based on google searches this means the pre-made sauce is too thick, and I needed to add water.
Overall:
Quick meal that tastes good, but probably not worth $17
The first two meals were good meals to practice using the Instant Pot. I now know the basics of how to release steam, cook, not burn stuff, etc.
